Condition of refrigerator Ensure that your refrigerator is clean and in good working order, with tight seals. This will minimise tempreture flucuations and prevent contamination that could spoil store seafood. Appropriate refrigerator temperature. Domestic refrigerators should maintain a tempreture close to +4C. Use a thermometer to check the tempreture of your refrigerator and if necessary adjust it downwards when storing seafood.. Pre-chilling of seafood in Cold Water. Wash the seafood in cold, running portable water to help chill it.
